Delivering a concert full of vibrant electro energy, Klangstof showcased material from their downtempo “Ocean View EP.” The performance illuminated the group’s dynamic range found on their releases and hits. Driven by pulsating rock-driven beats, a sense of playfulness emerged throughout the set. Lead singer, Koen van de Wardt, became fully immersed while moving between members Wannes Salomé (keyboardist) and Erik Buschmann (drummer) – inviting the audience along. Also, brought to life, is how some tracks resemble Radiohead, but in a way Klangstof makes their own. See photos of the show following the “Ocean View EP” stream below.

Klangstof unleashes new material

Recorded when the world was in hibernation, the atmosphere of “Ocean View EP” is a unique reflection of this journey through the eyes of Klangstof. It’s a unique glimpse of something created while everything felt on pause. In a way bringing this material to a live stage, surrounded by people, was a cathartic way of letting it all go. This feeling is fuelled by the special way the EP came together.

Since we hadn’t been able to play live together for a while, we felt the need to record these tracks sitting in a room together, playing the songs from start to finish as a group. Most of the tracks have been recorded in just one or a few takes. The whole process was very refreshing, the energy in the room was incredible. We honestly think we’ve never sounded as much as a band as on this recording.
