Copenhagen’s electro dream pop trio, CHINAH, possess immense talent as shown in their latest EP, Hints, which dropped earlier this year. When digging around, the group’s evasive online presence meant further investigation was necessary. With TIDAL, The Line of Best Fit, The Music Solution, and Ja Ja Ja Music interviews, CHINAH is already making splashes in the indie world. Their style is reminiscent of HAIM’s early days, among other female-led R&B-esque indie outfits. What makes the group stand out is lead singer, Fine Glindvad’s clear and punchy vocals. Throughout the interviews, they stress the importance of remaining authentic; this holds true when listening to CHINAH. While it’s evident they’re aware of trends in the indie community, they don’t seem to let that dominate their unique style. You can listen to Hints below.

“…the trio is here with their sophomore EP Hints to kick off 2017 and it sounds incredible. Throughout the seven track project they continued to deliver the catchy, seductive tunes that first caught our ears but they also maintain their complexity and find ways to make each song unique.” Pigeons and Planes

Chinah, a three-piece from Copenhagen, Denmark, work in the fertile space somewhere between electronic music and pillow-soft R&B.” – The FADER

“A grown-up, beefed-up take on oil-slick pop, the trio (comprised of Fine, Simon & Simon, which probably gets a bit confusing) turn uncertainty into something supremely confident.”DIY Mag

When Copenhagen trio CHINAH formed in 2014, they were playing Nordic folk music with an electronic undercurrent. It quickly became clear that singer singer Fine Glindvad had a voice built for something a little smoother, and so they made the shift to an electropop R&B sound.” – Consequence of Sound

With mentions of upcoming material in recent interviews and a Facebook post, it’s clear the group is gearing up for a full-fledged release sometime next year. They’ve been very active lately with plays on BBC 1, BBC 6, and a SXSW performance. You can read more about their previously released works at StereogumGood Because Danish, Nordic Spotlight, Scandinavia Standard, Indietronica, and Soundofaarhus. Supported by Simon Kjær (guitar) and Simon Andersson (keyboard), CHINAH is lead by Fine Glindvad. Having released 2 EP’s since their 2015 debut, CHINAH is on track to make big waves in 2018.
